Matthew Ralston - Inner Temple, Bernard Sunley Award

I grew up in Surrey and attended Bournemouth University. I studied law and graduated top of the year with a First Class Honours. During University, I was President of the Law Society, as well as founder of the Mooting Society and winner of Bournemouth University’s internal moots.

I went on to study the BPTC (paired with the LLM in Bar Practice) at The University of Law in Bloomsbury where I achieved an Outstanding overall as well as a Distinction in my Masters. I applied for pupillage in that academic year and was fortunate enough to secure a place at Lamb Building starting October 2021.

Outside of academia, I’m a keen pianist (having obtained Grade 8 and also teaching), swimmer and … coffee enthusiast might be a bit of a stretch, but I think to say that every day starts with a coffee would be an accurate representation!
